Costa Rica Trade Data for January and February 2018

According to the Statistics Bureau of Costa Rica, the total import and export volume of Costa Rican goods was US$ 4.17 billion in January and February 2018, an increase of 7.9% over the same period of the previous year (the follow is the same). Of which, the exports were 1.76 billion US dollars, an increase of 16.1% and the imports were 2.41 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.6%. The trade deficit was 650 million US dollars, an decrease of 21.9%.

In January and February, the import and export volume of bilateral goods between Costa Rica and China was $350 million, an increase of 8.6% over the same period of the previous year. Of which, Costa Rica’s exports to China reached $300 million, an increase of 11.3%, accounting for 1.5% of its total exports, an decrease of 0.1%; Costa Rica imported $330 million from China, an increase of 8.4%, accounting for 13.6% of its total imports, an increase of 0.7 %. Costa Rica’s trade deficit with China was $300 million, an increase of 8.1%.
